Derk Maat Shared the following testimony from Doug Kuyvenhoven of how he was inspired to launch a local prayer initiative in Ontario, Canada
Hi Derk:
I was cleaning up some paperwork in my office and came across your business card. Thought I should email you, to thank you for the work you did in organizing the conference on Dec 1&2, 2010 at the World Vision offices in Mississauga.
You invited myself and other Canadians who attended the Partners Worldwide conference in Grand Rapid in Oct 2010.
Attending the Transformation Canada conference and hearing Ed Silvoso and others speak about transforming the marketplace, schools, and cities was a life changer for me. After attending the conference I read a number of Ed's books. This inspired me to start a Partners Worldwide affiliate group in Wingham where we get together (monthly) with a growing group of [Christian] business owners. We are going throughout the book "Anointed for Business", discussing each chapter, encouraging and praying for each other as we seek to be "Marketplace Ministers".
This impacted me to hire a "corporate chaplain" for our company, Royal Homes.
I am working with the prayer team in our church to start a "Pray for Wingham - Adopt-a-street initiative" with the other churches in Wingham.
My heart for the poor in our community has grown and I am meeting with the local food bank to discuss starting a "collective kitchen" which would further assist the hungry in our area.
I am telling you all of this to let you know the impact the conference you organized in Mississauga has had on me. I want to thank you and Ed Silvoso for what you did, and to encourage you to "keep up the good fight". If you ever need help organizing or promoting another "Transform Canada" conference I would be happy to help in whatever way I can.
Yours in Christ,
Doug Kuyvenhoven
