Nathan Wendorff attended our Transformation conference in Hawaii last fall with his family. On the plane ride home, he wrote up a plan to cover his high school campus in prayer for 40 days. After sharing with the Christian club on campus for 3 weeks, they began to implement. Shortly after this, the word spread to a couple other schools via students from other youth groups. When the 40 days came to a close, 300 students showed up to the student-led evening rally and there were 8 schools represented that participated in the 40 days of prayer!
During spring break week in San Jose, CA, Nathan came and shared his stories with some students doing some prayer and service projects during the week. Inspired by what God used Nathan to instigate in Southern California, there are now 4 student-led, 40 day prayer initiatives going in San Jose!
It's one thing for a pastor, a parent or even a passionate youth worker to try to inspire students to mobilize to do something like this. It's so powerful and effective however to give students a platform to share God's work in their lives with other students. This story continues to unfold. It all began with 1 student - Nathan. Now, there are literally thousands of students across California who are being prayed for regularly by "Nathan's."
This summer, we're convening hundreds of "Nathans" for our 7 day Transformation Experience called "ACCELERATE" in Elk River, MN. We believe that God is going to meet us so powerfully and ignite our hearts for God and for the lost and cause teenagers, college students and young adults to take the simple steps of obedience that God had led Nathan to take.
