Being In The Right Place At The Right Time

"So what are you doing with the youth this afternoon?" One of the conference administrators asked me this recently during the "ACCELERATE" transformation experience in Elk River, MN. I told Bob that we were going to pray at the local police station as I had heard from the mayor the day prior that there had been 8 suicides in the past 8 months and many of the officers were dealing with "oppression." Then Bob asked me an follow up question - "Are you going to pray inside the station?" I said, "no, just in the parking lot." He said, "would you like to go inside?" Of course I answered "yes!" Immediately, he pulled out his cell phone, called the lead officer on duty and sets up an appointment for 2 hrs later for a rowdy group of youth (AKA world changers) to get a "tour" of the facility. We arrive and get a full tour of the 3 level building, including the opportunity to take mug shots and sit in a squad car in the garage! Our time at the station concluded with our group gathering around the officer and praying for him and the entire police force in the city - 32 officers total! It was such a great example to all of the youth of simply being willing to be obedient to go and pray and having God completely blow us away by opening up the station and being able to pray on-site, on the inside and the lead officer of the station!
