So on July 22nd we wake with the sweats: our AC was out. In AZ in the height of summer, living without AC is impossible. After troubleshooting all that my limited knowledge of how my AC unit works, I've determined I don't know what to do. So I call my neighbor who is a sub contractor to ask him what I should do. He suggested that I change out my disconnect panel. After a quick trip to the Home Depot and $7 dollars later, I'm back home doing what is way out of my league. I call my friend Ben, who is a believer and at one time was a journeyman electrician. He came over and helped me change it out. Excitedly, I went in cranked down the AC and... nothing. Another church member, works for an AC repair service company, so I called him. He assisted us in further testing out the unit to determine why it won't start up. Testing us to the max, we deduce we can't fix it. Reluctantly, we pack up and anxiously await the service man to come. As I'm walking away, I say to myself "I should pray for this thing." So I lay hands on the capacitor and say A-la-Ed-Silvoso: "Be healed in Jesus name!" I smile at the absurdity of what I've just done and walk away. Without thinking, I move on to the next task at hand: mow the grass. Just as I'm about to pull the start cord on the lawn mower when I hear that still small voice inside say: "You didn't try me out." The AC unit I gasped. "I forgot to check to see if my prayer worked." I went inside, turned down the thermostat and.... wwrrrrnnggg. The unit whizzes into action. I jumped up in amazement and shouted Hallelujah!!! God you did it! Awesome! So now we are rejoicing over the fact that God has healed our AC so we can live in comfort. But not just that, it's a witness to my neighbor. He called to see what had happened. So I told him, we changed out the part and nothing. We tried this and that; and nothing. Then I laid hands on it and prayed for Jesus to heal it. Guess what He did. "Oh, so you fixed it..." he says. I said "no you didn't hear what I said: I tried everything... when that didn't work, I prayed! God healed my AC!" He said "Ok, so it works now!" "Yes, Jesus healed my AC." With practical miracles like this, preaching the gospel is way easy, and tons of fun! So don't hold back, Jesus is in the restoration business!
