Rebuilding The Broken Walls

Jan. 2, 2011 (Sun)

Today is Sunday, the Body of Christ is gathered in several local congregations.

Today is also the first Sunday of the year.

May this new year and new decade,

usher us into a new beginning, a new era of UNITY in the Body of Christ.

As we are one in the Spirit, may we truly be in one accord:

one mind, one heart, one purpose.

May we fulfill Jesus' prayer in John 17

and together impact our city for HIM.

But the sad fact is...

the wall around our city is broken!

giving the Enemy access to prey inside

as the city lies utterly defenseless from its onslaught.

May this be the time we arise & unite

to build up the walls, to let no gap remain,

and to say no more to the works of the Enemy in our city.

We certainly cannot do this individually or as a local church.

It takes the unity of the Body of Christ in Davao

to destroy the foundation of wickedness,

and build up a foundation of righteousness;

to change the spiritual climate,

and effect societal transformation;

to raise the banner of Jesus in our city,

and eventually in our nation.

"A new command I give you: Love one another.

 As I  have loved you, so you must love one another.

 By this all men will know that you are my disciples,

 if you love one another" (John 13:34-35).

"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!

....For there the LORD bestows his blessing..." (Psalm  133:1,3).

Instead of asking for God's blessing upon our lives this new year & new decade, let us rather ask and even fight in the Spirit for God's blessing upon our nation.  For when it is blessed then we too are blessed.

 Let us love our nation, Philippines. Let us care about our nation (even if you're in another land right now). There is hope for our nation! God longs to heal our nation beginning in our city of Davao. He’s just waiting for us to cry out to Him, no more for ourselves, but for our nation. Let us unite in this Cause!
